The 2024/25 season has already begun for Al-Hilal, from Saudi Arabia, but the main player in the squad is still counting down the days until he returns to the field. Out of action since October 2023, Neymar is in the final stages of recovery from a serious injury and is still not an option for Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus.
In the Qualifying match for the World cup of 2026, against Uruguay, the Brazilian star ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee.
At the time, he had only made five appearances for Al-Hilal, with one goal and two assists after leaving the PSG. Last Thursday (15), the transfer completed one year.
Even without Neymar, the Saudi team had a great season, winning the national title and world football unbeaten record.
During this period, the Brazilian has been publishing several images of the recovery periodbut as reported by coach Jorge Jesus, fans will still have to wait a few weeks to see him on the field again.
“Neymar won’t be around at the start of next season. We think he’ll be able to compete in September or October,” the Portuguese said in May.
So far, Al-Hilal has played just two matches this season, both in the Saudi Super Cup, in which they were champions this Saturday (17), in the final against Al-Nassr, with Cristiano Ronaldo.
The debut in national championship will be on Saturday (24), against Al-Akhdoud.
